Burundi was Pre’s first country engagement and remains the anchor of our operations. Working directly with the national government, our team in Bujumbura has digitized over 47,000 pages of civil registry records — the documents that citizens need to prove identity, assert legal rights, and access services.
The project also serves as our partnership with FamilySearch, providing indexed records that connect Burundian citizens and diaspora communities to their documented history.
